Along with the information that Dyeemah has posted about Avedon's life and work, what I find so interesting about his photographs is his incredible ability to create characters. It is impossible to look at one of his portraits without immediately wondering about the individual's story. Rather than emulating one of his photographic style for my project, I chose to create characters that would leave the viewer curious and wanting more information, while also giving them the freedom to create their own narrative about the photo.
